Default K&N Xstream aircleaners?

Has anyone tried the K&N Xstream aircleaner assemblys, or the generic Summit version? These are the aircleaner lids that have a filter element on the top, as well as the sides. I'm thinking about picking one up for my TBI 305. I know these are designed for carbed cars, but since the TBI aircleaner looks the same . . . anyone tried one yet? Is it worth it?

I would just replace the whole assembly, but I'm worried about all the emissions crap. So, I figure swapping lids would help, and when I move back to somewhere that tests emissions, it won't hurt it.

Thoughts?

Default RE: K&N Xstream aircleaners?

i have one on mine, great combo with a cowl induction hood but with the stock hood it might not make a difference because it will be almost resting against the top of the hood.
