Default Iroc Tires

Time for new rubber on my 87 IROC 5.7. Tires are unidirectional. Are they a necessity? Any recommendations for the new rubber? Thanks.

i ran cooper cobra gt's on mine. they were pretty good for being an all season performance tire. decent grip, good wet weather and snow traction, and are not very expensive

I run BFGoodrich gForce Super Sports on mine; although I haven't had much chance to drive it since putting them on, I am quite impressed with them. Speed rated to 168 mph, and grip is just endless. It doesn't even matter how fast I take the corners, they never break loose.

Directional tires are not required on a Iroc. You can use Asymmetrical tires and then you can rotate the tires side to side at least. Your axle specific wheels are 16 X 8 and the only tires sizes I would recommend are 245/50/16 or 255/50/16. Also with these sizes you are again limited in choice of brands. My suggestion to go to Tirerack.com and compare brands and prices and then check your choices at the local tire shops.
