I got my first car about a year ago its a 1988 z28. I dont know a whole lot about cars, but the original TPI motor was taken out and 350 ,5.7 liter, with i think a 2barrel carb was put in. The motor runs fine but i think it could be alotmore powerful, any ideas that wont cost me too much?? (i am only 17).

oh ya can a maitence make your car run alot better i dontthink the car has had one in like 5 years??

for starters, if that is indeed a 2 bbl carb, get a new intake manifold and a 4 bbl carb, that alone will be a pretty decent gain. Not to much money either. Manifolds are about 200ish, and a good carb can cost ya about 500 - 1000. Upgrade your ignition system.

a regular tuneup always helps, go ahead and have a shop do a tune up, unless you want to do it, its a simple thing, but it takes time. Mostly is a fuel system cleaning, new plugs, wires, and cap, filters, and some places do more, some places stop there.
