i have that same hood, does yours have the holes on the side? if soo can you buy caps for them, i have the black panels on the top just nothing for the holes

 

no i dont have any holes on mine lol

 

someone decided to make yours "functional" if you want to stop most water from grtting in while still letting the small amount of air to flow through the holes, go to a craft store and buy a roll of fine mesh(in your choice of color) cut some rectangles a little bigger than the holes and epoxy them to the underside of the hood/holes, should help keep most water out
