I have an 83 Z28. I think my heater core went out because I have anti-freeze and water leaking onto the passenger floor board. Thereare no leaks outside the car. My questions are---Is this something that I can do myself or should I not waste my time and pay a shop to do it?
Any tips or pointers on fixing the core?

Look forward to pulling the whole dash out. Its not hard to do and getting it out of your way makes it simple and you dont have to fight with it. Don't try to fix the core just replace it. They are not that expensive. Average around $30

Yea, I actually went out and bought one yesterday it was like $30. I hate to admit but I also bought one of them books that explains how to replace all the parts on the car. It seems like it may be helpful. Yea, your notkidding about taking the whole dash off. Seems like a pain in the a$$, but im gonna start working on it today.
