RE: Fuel injection to carburated conversion questions
Well, let's see, '87 IROC, that means you have the 700r4, correct? Technically you CAN lose everything. The ECU controls the EFI and transmission lock-up if I'm not mistaken, but I'm not sure if there is two separate control boxes or not. If there is, then you can keep the one for the tranny. If you want to get rid of that stuff all-together, you can get a lock-up kit for $80 that will control the lock-up for you based off of engine vacuum. There's going to be some ppl on here that know a lot more about 3rd gens than I do so let's see if maybe the ECU willlock up the converterif you get rid of the TPI. By the way, will you be selling the TPI system? Just curious.

RE: Fuel injection to carburated conversion questions
I just found this on the web about the lock up...Is it true...am I just gonna lose gas mileage??
"Other things you should know. Your SES light will come on, and stay on. Since it no longer controls anything, it means nothing, ignore it or remove the bulb. Also, if you have an automatic, the computer will no longer lockup your torque converter. All this means is that you will lose a little gas mileage when cruising in 4th gear over 35mph. You can either live with it, rig your own lockup switch (see the article in Tech Central), or there is a kit available that will take care of it."
