IMME GET A 1983 CAMARO WITH NO ENGINE...IM WONDERING IF I CAN FIT AND LS1 ENGINE WITH A 350 TRANNY??

 

First advise is push the "caps lock" key.

He answered your question just not directly. You can make anything fit as long as you have the money. I may be wrong but a lot will be involved with the swap hence his comment of "Money always helps".

 

I will agree with Mike, and add:

Stay in school.

Yes, the LS1 will fit. Yes, a 350 tranny will fit. However, there are better options that will be cheaper and easier. Retrofitting an LS1 into an '83 won't be cheap; I'd say find an old IROC or Z-28 with a 350/700R4 combo. Either carb or TPI, but carb'd is probably what your car was originally, and will therefore be easier to replace.

 

Just to start. I am not 100% posative but you may need to modify the cross member at least to clear an a/c compressor. The oil pan will also need modification. I think Canton Racing makes a mount kit and oil pan for the swap. There are others but Canton comes to mind.

 

I WOULD STAY IN SCHOOL BUT JUST GRADUATED HEADING OFF TO UC BERKLEY...BUT EITHER WAY SO LS1 WILL FIT WITH AND 350 TRANNY...THE MONEY DEOSNT MATTER IM GETTING THE ENGINE INSTALLED FOR 500 BUT I DIDNT KNOW IF I HAVE TO GET A DIFFERENT TRANNY...SRY FOR THE CAPS

 

Why the 350 tranny? A 700R4 is superior, and probably came stock.
