Hello All, Question, i have a friend who has an 82 Indy Pace Car Camaro that has been in his garage since 95, his brother is the original owner. They are willing to let me take it off their hands for for a few hundred bucks. It has not ran since 1995 and it has a front left fender that needs replaced. Some knuckle head friend of friend of his brother tried to start it a year ago and ended up causing a small fire in the engine bay. The location of the fire it appears to have been isolated to the area of the wiring connections at the firewall next to the brake booster. Initial inspection looks the insulation of a few wires burned off and the plastic connectors were partially melted. I under stand there are a lot of unknowns with the car not running since 95 but is the fire damage enough to walk away from this 'project'. Just trying to figure out if that wiring harness and wiring block is a easily replaceable item and what other issues it may unleash making it a money pit. I'm looking for an older car to put some work into to get it ready for my son when he gets old enough to drive not looking for a monster build or full restore type project. Looking for opinions on the condition described and the this opportunity to pick up this car for a few hundred bucks. Let me know your thought and any pitfalls that i should consider. Any help/input is appreciated.(photos below)
