Default Centering 86 z28 motor?

I am planning on either an Injegtor hood scoop or nice motor dress up kit. both of which will require me too put a hole in the hood but when I was sizing it up I noticed the hood was off center. Maybe because the original engine was a tpi and it is now carbed. Wondering if anyone would know a way to center the motor or if I might sol.

thanks for any help and sorry I am alot a questions and not a whole lot of answers.

The motor is gonna sit where it wants to. No way to center it. More than likley its just a combination of how the sheet metal is welded and bolted together and is gradualy off center.

Isyour engine that far off-center to be noticeable by eye, or only with a tape measure?
Mine may be a little off-center, but the bigger the hole, the harder to tell.

Yeah who the hell is gonna look and say "hey man that hole is an inch to the left! hahahaha"
Or if its off by a little it may be the mount that the engine torques on and its sagging a bit.

I would say its pretty noticeable to me. I think it is off by 2-3 inches. I might get the scoop and try it out. I can always return it. Sucks that I cant do more to center it though. I am changing motor mounts during my christmas shut down so maybe that will help a little bit.
