carburetor problems

Default carburetor problems

what kind of carburetor do i get for an 87 sport ? i ordered an edelbrock but the new carb doesnt hookup the little solenoid plug or sensor (not sure exactly what it is) but its for gas . as you can see im not car smart so any info would be a big help. thanks

it needed a computerized carb and that part was called mixture control solenoid . I guess these were the carburetors they came up with right before fuel injection.

You'll need to get the correct carb for your application. i'm not sure what aftermarket companies make them, but you'll need to get the correct hookups for your computer such as TPS, air/fuel mix, etc. Putting on a carb without those connectors will lead to codes and a possible no pass on emissions if your area requires one. There would really be no performance gain by switching to a non computer controlled one, unless you have by-passed the comp and have the motor to require that carb. If that is an 87 RS it more than likely is the 305...That motor doesn't beathe no matter what carb is on it, it has very very restrictive heads

i got the correct one now the e4me but when installing i didnt mark all the plugs now im in a big mess trying to figure out where what goes . theres so much **** on there! are there diagrams for this stuff ? no i dont have the rs model and i swapped the 305 to 350 thinking it would run smooth with a new engine but.....

this whole time there was a diagram on the inside of the hood lol i had the plugins right though turns out the carb that i just bought from a site sold me a messed up one the choke pull off doesnt work neither does the tps. i might be talking to myself but im gonna keep you all updated
