Got my new headers on, they sound great now i just gotta ditch my slowmasters and put on my borlas. However i noticed a series of little alluminum tubes coming out of the old manifolds that run to some rubber hoses which in turn run to a plastic box on the pass side infront of the ac and to the left of the air filter. It has a series of tubes coming out of it that appear to lead to no where. I wish i could post pics from my iphone but i cant. My question is A. What is this box if you know which im talking about and B. Can it be removed since it doesnt appear to be connected to anything anymore which will make it easier to reach passenger side plugs.

 

What you've done is bypass your AIR injection pump. If you had bought smog headers, it all would have bolted back up. The air pump puts fresh air into the exhaust as its cold, then once the motor reaches operating temp, its not needed. If your state/county/wherever checks emission equipment, you may fail.

 

what he said. if you have a friend that can overlook it, that would be great. i live in a non emissions area and was failed on a state safety inspection for not having a belt on my air pump

 

if no emissions laws ditch it all and never think about it again.
