89 camaro please help

Default 89 camaro please help

Ok i have an 89 camaro 305 TBI everytime i sit in traffic it overheats and starts shooting water out of the over flow and a little out of the radiator cap the fan is on and i have a put a new water pump on it as well there is also no water in the oil and no oil in the water but if i am driving the car does stay cool usually about 180 and i don't know if this makes a difference but when i get on my car it seems to back fire and putter have a baby on the way so need to get this fixed

When you replaced the water pump did you purge the water system?

yes i purged the system i usually have no problems with fixing this stuff but this one is just being tricky

New thermostat? Was the system cleansed?

Also check your ignition timing. If it's way off, the engine will run hot.

I was thinking that but he didnt mention anything that would make me think that. Good call though.
