Default 86 z28

I havea 1986 z28 305 tpi. I'm wanting to do some stuff to it to get more power. I already have long tube headers, ORY and magnaflow catback. I would like to put a camshaft in, get it sounding a lil lopy.but is this the right thing to do? How much power will a lt1 cam give me? I would like some of you more exp. guys to guide me in the right direction.

Your on the right track. But get some heads on there as well, and port out that intake. That will really help it to breathe and make some power.

If you change the cam you should change the torque converter, if you have an auto. If you don't and the cam is powerful, you will bog the motor and it will be very disapointing, up until about 50mph.
