I just bought my son an 86' camaro with a 2.8L. The car starts runs and drives great but once it gets warm it die's. after 10 or 15 minutes it will start again and die, it's driving me crazy. plzzz help

 

Is the check engine lamp lit?

 

yes, tried to pull the codes but nothing there.

 

If the lamp is lit, there has to be a code. From your problem description, it appears that the engine has problems when the ECM goes into the closed loop mode. This most likely is the result of a sensor problem, but you need the trouble code to find the one that is causing trouble.

 

when I tried to pull codes it flashed 12 times and nothing else. I'll try again.

lamp comes on when it dies when it goes off then it starts.

 

You will have to get the code. Here were I live the auto parts stores are more than happy to get the code for you. That is because they will usually sell a part.
