Default Not starting

Hi guys I just recently purchased a 89 camaro. I got it yesterday and it was running fine and later that night I wanted to get it out of my friends garage but it wouldnt start. I dont know if the starter went bad or not because it doesnt even do anything when you turn the key, and the battery is new. I talked to the guy I bought it from and he said the starter was replaced but he didnt remember when, your help would be grateful, thanks.

Hey, Welcome to the forums.
What happens when you turn the key? Any clicking sounds?
If no clicking ensure it is in park/nuetral, clutch pushed in. Do the lights or other automatic accessories come on with the key turned?

Hello and thank you. Yes their is a click and the check engine light turns on as well as the brake warning light. The engine light was already on and just recently we bypassed the ignition and the starter is working good because infact it is new.

What all was involved in the bypassing of the ignition. Could be your culprit. Check the usual stuff also; Wires all connected, fuel pump priming/turnin on andgetting to the motor etc..
Where is the click? Near the starter or seloniod?

Well it wouldn't even hesitate to start so the guy who I bought it off off hardwired it real quick and it fired right up. I know it is something electrical and it isn't the starter. As far as the click goes, I can not tell where it is comming from, sorry. But their is an ignition connector when cranked over that could maybe have gone bad? (Its on the steering column)
