the heads are the main limiting factor with the 3.1. they don't flow over 4500rpm.

 

Shouldn't the 95-08 3100 Aluminum Heads fit Perfectly?

well I know there is a site building up a 2.8 with 3x00 parts online for a fiero so I assume the heads from a 3100 will fit the 3.1

I've done a few 3.4L block swaps into 2.8L S-10's before but I've never messed with a Camaro. Is it basically the same thing just a direct swap for a 3.1 pretty much? Could you use the 3.4's injectors in place of the 2.8? I've always wondered.

 

yes, it is a direct swap. i think running 3.4 injectors on a 2.8 would cause it to run just a little rich though.

 

Well actually I meant swapping out the 2.8 for the 3.4 and using the 3.4's injectors but I didn't know if it could be done or not. I guess it can then?

 

ya, it should be a direct swap. you'd have to use the 3.4 injectors on the 3.4, the fuel rails are designed for them. (3.4 uses different fuel rails than the 3.1/2.8)
