Talking Jumping Gas Gauge

FYI I was having issues with my 87 starting and running. The gas gauge was jumping all over the place when replacing the fuel pump I notices the elastomer hose connecting the pump to the pickup was cracked. Replaced the hose with SAE30R9 fuel injector hose per AIRTEK and gauge stopped jumping around.

Hope this helps some one out there.

I had that with my old 91. Hose was deteorated to the point where gas was just pumping right back into the tank. Since having to take the tank down anyway, I went ahead and replaced the pump while at it. If you still kept the old pump, Murphy's law says it will probably burn out next month!
