i just put the motor and trans back in my '89. the motor has a jumpy idle. it will rev constantly up to 2500 and back down to 1100. there is one plastic vacuum line from the intake that broke and i dont know where it goes. could that be the problem. any help will be appreciated.

 

If that vacuum line is not plugged yes it could be a problem. The small plastic tube should be the source for the blend air doors, a valve for the heater (if its no yours), cruise control (if you have it) and the vacumm resivour under the front of the left fender near the head lights

 

so i could just plug the line and would be ok?

 

is that what that little bubble thing is behing the lights??? ive looked at that a few times while workin on my car and wondered...

 

If you plug it then there will be no vacuum to the blend air doors and you will only get air from the defrost.

Yeah thats the vacuum resivour about near the marker light inside the left fender.
