HELP! Need to pull the oil pan!!!
I have a 1991 with a 3.1 and an automatic.
I got the car from my sister and she ran it dry of oil then gave me the car. Put oil back into it and it seems to run fine, it made some valve ticking sounds when she didn't have any oil pressure but seems ok now. I want to pull the oil pan to see if there is any junk in it and if the motor is ok.
So the Haynes book is saying to use an engine hoist to pull the motor up after you disconnect it from the motor mounts. Does that sound right? How much clearance do I need to clear the cross member?
Any tips on this procedure would be greatly apreciated. Also I have a car lift that I would like to be able to use in this endevor but it looks like it might be to complicated/dangerous with it and the hoist.
