hey all I am wanting to purchase a 91 camaro rs w/ the v6. However it is not running in time. It seems to have slight miss in it and owner says that doin the obdo check reveals a code 12?? any idea what the problem may be? is it simply replacing the ecm unit itself? sorry for lack of info.. new to chevy cars.. thanks

 

Code 12 will always be there. It is from no signal from the distributer. Does the light come on while driving?

 

I honestly didnt drive the car for fear it would stop running while driving on me. It started fine on first try and also sounded good underaccelration.. However under idle it seemed to miss every 3-4 seconds... It was a guy in his 70s who owned it and said he could not fix it.. I am trying to figure out how much it will cost me to get it running right.. I am hoping to pick up by friday but only if i can figure out whats going on

 

Well a miss could be any thing. Poor state of tune???? Old man never really run it hard at all???? Thems the thing we all face when buying used, having to fix some things
