Default 91 RS 3.1 v6 fuel pump problem...please help...

i just bought a 1991 Camaro RS off a guy for $550
its a 3.1 LiterV65 speed manual...only has 100,000 miles on it
everythings fine
except the fuel pump....the guy said that he replaced it twice in the last 3 years
of course i didnt want to go through the process of dropping the tank so i cut out a small section of the trunk right above the gas tank
only to find that there were 4 steel gas lines leaving the assembly that fits into the gas tank
there is not way to detach these fuel lines anywhere close enough to pull out the fuel pump
i saw on a 4th generation there was a peice of the fuel line that broke apart just for thisaction but my 3rd gen doesnt
i was told to cut the line and replace the small section with a hose
the psi rating going through those lines is in 40's
i dont kno what to do
would someone please help me
thanks, Ryan

Well if you are going to be lazy and not drop the tank and want to cut the line either flare the two ends and use a coupler or a compression fitting.
