28. to 3.4 swap response.

I read the post earlier of 2.8 to 3.4 swap. I was wondering if i swapped without switching the chip, what problems will i have?

It will explode

cbr600rx7 05-08-2011 07:55 PM

It will not explode however it will not run good. Fuel and timing will be off.

H2C 05-08-2011 09:55 PM

Are you sure? i thought there would at least be some sparks or something

darkdesirecamaroman 05-08-2011 11:21 PM

On that note, will any Camaro 3.4 chip work, or are some years better?

If you're swapping but keeping a V6, look into the 4.3 motors out of the SS S-10s, that's the project I'm doing right now

This sort of thing makes me want to cry.

You're in a V6 tech section man, I'm using mine as a daily driver so I need to keep up with emissions and can't afford an LS1, so chill.

Oh, it isn't the V6 engine that makes me want to cry. It is all the work involved in going to a DIFFERENT V6 engine that makes me want to cry. I suppose that if you've got a lot into the car then it could make it worth it.

I can't speak for him, but i got mine for $350 from a mexican guy in the process of being deported. AND he was an alcoholic, so the damage from drunk driving was terrible. When I bought it it had no key, I didn't know if it started or not. Got a key made, she started right up. Had to put 3 grand into her for inspection. Then I replaced the entire front end, and gave her a fresh paint job. Did all this at my garage. So yeah, I'm damn proud of this car, I love driving it every day, and want better power with decent gas mileage. V6 swap only requires comp change and wiring harness as far as I know.
