those turbos are like 400 bucks and make like 6 hp... a regular cold air ntake makes the same amount and it will be like 60 bucks

How about a supercharger? Would that be worth it?

Nah, same dealio. Plus one of the guys already said that it has a notorious weak bottom. Throwing that on he might as well light his own engine on fire. It would be cheaper and more beneficial to find a 3.8L V6. They only run you like 3-6k. Basically the same as a new engine (or replacing the engine if you do any of that other work improperly). Then you'll come with 200H and 225T stock with a bullet proof engine.

3.8 is far from bullet proof. Plus you would have to deal with changing out the ecu and wiring harness. On top of that for 3-6 grand you can pick up a LS1 front clip.

Your cheapest bet would be a strong set of gears if you dont care about MPG. 4.10s would make a huge difference in that car. Other then that its time for a SBC swap.

bore and stroke the block out to a 3.1, swap on some 3500 heads. they're not cheap but guys have been making close to 280whp with them. also, ditch the stock intake manifold, it's not a good high end rpm manifold. you might want to bump the compression up too.

Will a 3.1L V6 fit exactly the same as a 2.8? With the head covers, and computer, ect.

is literally the same engine. just bored and stroked out with different heads on it.

and Gorn, maybe the original sixxer blew up and was replaced by a 2.8??

and as i've said before, you're not going to get any real power out of 2.8/3.1 Iron heads. they don't have the necessary flow for any real performance. 3400/3500 heads will work, and you'll have a better top end performance with them

Yeah they're the same engines. I was always amazed at how much more power and better gas mileage my 3.1 got over my 2.8 though. It was odd.
