2.8 performace
ooo and putting a big block no u dont half to cut its just a tight fit the fbody camaros can almost fit anything ebay was selling a 1987 camaro 502 big block omg wow it was nice anyway the firewall wasnt cut but u do need beeter supports and shocks and mounts
I know I am new to the 3.4 but how can putting the head off and 170 hp car and putting them on a 165 hp car get you 235 hp? My understanding of the upgrade is with the old 3.4's the heads where a limiting factor. If you wanted to build a 235 hp motor the first step is the heads but you still need Cam/rockers, compression, intake, MAF and exhaust to make the car 235 hp. The cost of this would be greater then a 350 upgrade.
Oh 235 HP on a 2.8 is a rolling bomb waiting for someone to push the plunger.

and where did you get a 2.8 being rated at 165bhp??? last i checked the carbed 2.8 was 102bhp and the MPFI 2.8 was 125bhp.

He is talking about bolting 3.4 FWD heads onto a 3.4 RWD block. That is where the 165 HP comes from. I know a little more about the swap now. The 3.4 FWD heads greatly increase the compression of the 3.4 FWD block to well beyond what either motor had. Something like 13:1.
