1987 Camaro 2.8 wont start! HELP!!
My buddy just picked up an 87 camaro 2.8L V6 with only 87K miles on it. it turns over great, but wont start on its own. it starts on starting fluid, but only for a second. the gas gauge shows a 1/4 tank, and the previous owner said the pump is good, he said its just "quiet". he also said the fuel lines and filter are brand new. I'm not hearing the pump running. what would it be? injectors? pump relay? pump wiring? the pump itself? I also checked all of the fuses and they are all fine. My buddy has also put a new ECM in it. HELP PLEASE!!!

I would first check to make sure you have proper fuel pressure at the fuel rail with a fuel pressure gauge. See you can borrow one or purchasing one is not that expensive and I'll assure you you will be using time and time again. The test port is at the back of the upper intake plenum.
The other thing you may want to get is a cheap Haynes or Chiltons manual. It will help steer you in the right direction. It will also show how to jump the fuel pump through the ALDL test connector under your dash.
You mentioned you can't hear the fuel pump. Try removing the gas cap to listen for the fuel pump as your buddy cycles the key several times. It easier to hear it from there. HTH and good luck.
