I am putting a 350 into my 86 iroc and I am wondering if the stock trans will work ok with the 350. I know that it will bolt up but I am looking for suggestions on whether to get a new trans or rebuild the stock one. This is my first project car and I have never done anything this extensive before so any suggestions will help. Thanks

 

The 700R4 auto was the only transmission used with the factory 350TPI cars. If it was working before and nothing has changed why bother.

 

I'm not positive because I bought the car with no motor in it but i thought it came with a stock 305. It's an 86 iroc-z.

 

If you did not understand the first Post: The 700R4 was the ONLY auto offered on 3rd gen cars (including your 86 mocel).
