just trying to keep the op from getting confused, you defiantly dont have the 4L60E they didnt start using that trans until the '94 model, it may be a 4L60. but from what im seeing theres no difference between the 4L60 and the 700R4 as far as the valve body goes (which is whats modified with the shift kit)

Thats perfect. I do have the TH700-R4, 4L60.

My only other thought is any suggestions for which shifter to get?

 

Might as well rebuild it while your at it.

 

If you have the money or the know how. Rebuilding auto transmissions isn't easy or cheep, putting in the reprograming kit is pretty simple.
