The centrifugal s/c could be used on anything that can handle the boost and that you find room for. You'd need to lengthen your serpentine belt or delete something like the a/c and put it in its spot. People tend to lean towards turbos because they believe that they are better than superchargers which is not always the case.

GM made a factory supercharged 3800 and they used to made a Turbo 3800. Both work great but I think GM likes to keep the heat out of the engine compartment for warranty sake.

All this is moot for the original poster since his motor is a 2.8. The bottom end will not hold up and the head will not flow enough. Supercharges and turbo charges even nitrous will help to fill the cylinder of a bad flowing head but they will not help much to empty it. A big part of building any type of boost motor is the exhaust valve and the exhaust port.
