Default Speedometer and Tach Wiring- Help Needed!

I have an 89 rs with a 350 carbureted engine and a t56 manual trans. I need to put in a new speedometer and tachometer because the old ones don't work with the trans and i was just wondering on the wiring required to do this. I know i need a power ground and a signal im just not sure how to go about doing it.

By "new tach" do you mean aftermarket? The signal wire (might be a green one) to the tach hooks up to the negative terminal of the coil. Black to ground. Red to keyed power. White to dash lights.

Those gauges come with detailed instructions if you buy them new.
