Project Old Blue
I think it time for my own thread. To use and let everyone how things are going. With the motor mounts replaced. I started on the changing out all the bushings. The new bushings have not got here yet because of labor day. I do have the rear control arms and the rear stablizer arm out. When the bushing show up. I am going to take the A-arms and the rear arms to my local shop to get the bushings replaced. While i wait for them to get done. I also order new shocks and strust. I should have them installed before the arms done.
Its been a buzy 2 weeks with my job and my 84 camaro. I have replaced all the bushings and have got all the control arms back in place. The springs where not fun to get back in. Got new shocks and struts and those are in. While every thing was apart i thought it might be a good time to replace the break pads and shoes. It was a good thing i looked in side the drums because the shoes were shot. The rubber break lines were cracked to so they had to be replaced. The new lines did not fit the metal retainers just right so i cut the notches back and they fit now. I only got the passanger side done tonight. I am going to fix the driver side tomarrow. Then i can put the car back on the ground with all four tires. I will get sum pic up some time after i get a new camera. The one i have wont work any more cuz i droped it.
My son & I are new here too with a 84 Z/28 rolling chassis. Gen 1 350 4 bolt Motor is on an engine stand waiting on the machinist 202 heads. Trying to go non-computer on this first build of his (18 yrs old). How's it on your end & let us know on the motor mounts. We are up to that in a week or so. The 'ol man
