motor mount replacement
I have a good project going but ran into a snag. My stock motor mounts are not going to hold up to my new motor. i have a set of solid steel mounts on the way, but i need to remove the old ones. So what is the best way to remove the stock ones off the crose member.
Plus i had a few dont mind the spelling. lol

Not to bad. trying to get the A-arm out on the passanger side. But theres one bolt that is stuck in the rubber bushing. Trying to get it out. Because with the A-arm out i can get to the bolts on both sides of the motor mounts.

Great be careful of those coil springs. If you have it apart that far take a good look at those bushings. Now would be the time to replace them. When I did this I didn't replace them so I have kicked myself many times for not doing so.

Yea thats a good point. I am going to do that because they are shot. There rusted and bolts are haveing a hard time coming out. I still did not get the bolt i was working on out. I am going to try haveing my friend come over with his plasma cut to cut some of the bolt off so the A-arm can come out. Then i can get the rest of it apart. Might not be the best plan but i ran out of ideas.

I know some of those bolts get welded in with rust, can bring out the best in a guy. My family stays there distance when I run in to something like this. Make sure and coat the new bolts with anti-seize.

Ok cool there was a light show, but it was from me with a cuting wheel. Not to bad, but 4 1/2 disk wheel did not get the job done. My buddy sold off his torch and plasma. That was bad thing to find out. Only good thing i was able to do was get driver side out free and clear. I am going to get a 7 1/2 grinder with cuting wheel in the morrning. just so i can make the depth of the bolt.
