I striped it down to the block, sent the heads out, put in a melling hi flow oil pump, did a new timming kit, and all new gaskets. And painted it.

Just checking. I thought you were still putting the LT1 in and then I saw the intake on that and thought to myself, Hey that looks more like a TPI from the '80s and just wanted to make sure neither you or your friend were thinking otherwise. It sure does look perdy!

Well the engine is finaly in. I just have to adjust the rocker arms, adjust the timming, and figure out my vaccumes and this car should be running smooth. Im having an issue with getting the timming right, somthing about finding top dead center and putting the distributer in the right place. Im so close, then i can get onto making it look nice.

I can't remember exactly how to do timing since it's been a while and I only ever did it twice before...but I found this vid. Hopefully it helps some.

What the above video doesn't show you is how to stab the distributor in and set it up. Watch both of these.

Phase one is complete. she runs and drives, starts right up first time and feels like its got some good power. Now i need to get a new top, put the interior in and get it painted. I want to get some sub frame connectors welded in before i beat on her. Im also gonna get a strut tower brace. I also am gonna have to do the brakes and rotors, and front shocks. Maybe get some lowering springs, and deffinately need a flowmaster exhaust. It felt good to drive it home from the shop, i didnt know if it would make it or just die on me somewhere considering it was my first engine swap. But it ran mint, and didnt die at all. So now she will sit for a little bit so i can save more money to dump into it. Probably ask for some parts for christmas, haha

So, according to the second video, every engine begins on the #1 cylinder. However; when I looked up my engine specs, everything says it starts on the #6 cylinder. How is that possible? Maybe because I'm running a V6 instead of a V8?

OP: I was never a fan of the third gen, but you've got a great thread going so far. My recommendation is to upload the pictures to a site like Photobucket and post the IMG links from there. Make the pictures easier to see and we won't have to open them one at a time

Man looks like she is coming along very nicely. I have been debating on picking up a 3rd gen. Great build you have going!
