Default yet another gauge question...

well the tach in my 92 camaro doesnt work, it didnt work when i got it, what would be the easiest/cheapest way to go about solving this? idk where the tach hooks up to on the engine, i thought about just getting an aftermarket tach but id rather just have the one in the original gauge cluster working. I was told it was un hooked but i dont think thats true because sometimes it randomly jumps around, if it is un hooked where does it hook to and what does it look like where it hooks in? (a pic would be AWESOME. lol) thanks in advance guys... even just for reading the post ^_^ btw, i did search for other posts about gauges, however i couldnt find one that showed the location of where the tach connects or what it looks like, but if i missed it could you please point me in that direction?

one of the wires that plug into the coil should be to the tach. find a good shop manual it will have wireing diagram that will tell u what color the wire is that goes to the tach. if u are planning to keep the car for a while get a dealer shop/repair manual that covers your year model. i have one for a 93 and i think they are different. i have the opti im mine.

there is also a resistor in the factory tach that goes bad after a while. if its hooked to your distributor and your getting readings sporadically, you might want to find a replacement or repair the one you have.

the only wires running to the distributor are spark plug wires, unless it connects down next to it or somethin?
