Default Wires to a/c compressor

I have four wires going to the a/c compressor in my 84 trans am.
I want to take a/c off this car and move it to my c10.
But...

I dont know where the 4 wires go or what they do.
Two are on the back of the compressor and are the same color as the ones
on the switch on the accumulator. Is the anything else these wires go to?

There are also two wires on the front behind the pully. These wires are green and dark brown or black. Any ideas where these go?

None of the wires seem to be hot at any time.

HELP???

Sounds like the hi and low pressure switchs. What year is your C10. I think your 84 is the design that kicks on and off to control pressure. If you C10 is not of that type then you can not use it.

c10 is a 79, it has the same wires on the accumulator. Truck had factory a/c but some removed it many years ago.

I am going to use everything out of the Camaro, as long as I can figure out what everything is.

The swith in the back of your R4 the compressor is the High pressure saftey switch, It protects the compressor if things start to overheat. The switch on the acumulator is the one that controls the compressor kickin on and off. The should be a a low pressure switch in the low side line.

You truck could have a R4 or a A6. If it had an A6 compressor you will not be able to use the R4 compressor with a lot of work. If you truck system has been disconected for an amount of time it will need cleaned and the accumulator will need replaced. Do not run the system without replacing the accumulator. If you do the silicate bag will break inside and you will have a huge clean up that will require you to flush every part of the system.

I am not using anything from the truck. I plan on taking everything out of the Camaro.
Assuming it will fit. The high pressure switch is the one on the accumulator.
Any idea where the low pressure switch is?

Everything on the Camaro is still hooked up.
It is my plan to just unhook everything, move it and then modify the wiring to work with the truck.

Can the Camaro compressor run on the new stuff that replaces freon?
R134 with the adapters?

Nothing is going to fit. The hose are all designed for the car. Are you using the the controls and wiring harness out of the car? The evaporator and condenser? because if the truck was a A6 the wiring is completley different. Even the evaporator is different because the A6 uses a control valve and the R4 does not. It has been a long time since I worked on one of these system but I am pretty sure the large switch in the accumulator is the control switch. If you pull the connector off and look at the switch itself there is a screw right in the center of the switch. That screw is how you adjust when the compressor kicks on.

You can put R134 adapter and it will hold freon for a while but your going to have to recharge the system every year because the original R12 hose will bleed out the R134 over time.

Don't forget the oil.
