Hello everybody! I've got my '82 Berlinetta home finally and need to get working on it. It's gonna need quite a bit of elbow grease to get it all done. Many of the parts I can source locally, brakes, engine parts, suspension, etc. But there are some I can't find easily. Meaning there is a lot on the web, but I don't know about the quality, fit, etc.



I need to know a good source for the following:

• Door Hinge Pin Kits.
• Door to Window Trim or Molding (on exterior of door where the window comes up).
• Center Caps for 15" Z28 Wheels.
• Interior Upholstery (All of it).

Also does anyone know which dash covers are of decent quality? I see quite a few available on Amazon.com and JCWhitney.com.

And last but not least, tires. Any recomendations for 15" tires (I'm running 1982 Z28 rims)? I was thinking of BF Goodrich Radial T/A raised white letter, but you guys/gals may know of better tires.

as for tires, what are you looking for? performance traction, general driveability, snow? i had cooper cobra gt tires on my camaro, the traction was decent, and they did great in the snow as well.

 

Thanks for the link microkid! The tires don't need to be good in the snow. This car is summers only. I had BF Goodrich Radial T/A's on my '85 Camaro back in '89. I recall they absolutely sucked in the rain. I'd like a tire that gets decent traction dry and wet.

 

no problem. for tires to be good in the wet, the more sipes (little cuts) it has, the better it does at channeling water out. there arent very many performance oriented tires now availible in 15 inch sizes, but there are still some decent tires. my experience with bfgoodrich tires has always been negative and i will never purchase their tires because of the poor wet weather traction ive experienced from them. take a look around though at different tire stores and ask for some opinions from one of the mechanics. i usually select a tire just based on what the tread looks like and the treadwear ratings, nothing from what the manufacturer states

 

Hey Odie, Im up here in Syracuse.....my Camaro doesnt even leave the garage after late September! As far as the rain, Ive got Eagle GT's and I may as well be running racing slicks if it gets wet out.

Parts? Well, we are kinda screwed up here. When I was putting my car back from the dead (bought it from a guy who was about to scrap it) I found a few 3rd gen's in a few junkyards, but most of them were gutted to the point of no return. Ask around on the board here, its amazing what people have laying around.
