wheel help

i just purchased a set of wheels for my car and the finish is dull and kinda milky looking, i would like to polish them up, what advice do any of yall have as to how to go about this

what kind of finish? Polished? Chrome? Painted?

they are polished aluminum and i think they are clear coated but i am unsure of that

if it has an anodized(sp?) coating on it then you can't polish that milky look out. the aluminum running boards on my van have the same look.
