Default Whats involved in replacing speedo driving gear....

While I got the rear up in the air finishing my suspension, the fact that my speedo doesnt work is eating at me. I know its a problem with the speedo driving gear (the clip has popped off twice, buddy has fixed it in the past)...

What all is involved in pulling that tail unit and getting at that gear?

Mainly, how much tranny fluid is going to come cascading all over me and my garage floor?

Id rather leave it alone than deal with another dogawful tranny fluid mess all over my floor, my back, etc....

Jack up and support the rear of the car, and you won't lose very much fluid. Just put a drain pan under the tail of the trans. Remove the driveshaft, speedo driven gear and housing, then the tail housing.

Yeah, it was a whole lot easier than I imagined. Pulling that friggen torque arm down was a ******!

So how did they put a th350 in this thing without the 700r4 tailshaft adapter everyone talks about. (somebody replaced my tranny with a th350 before I had the car) The old torque mount and bushing work just fine. What did I miss?
