It is the sheet metal between the engine and your feet. You brake booster bolts to it all the way over to the heater box

So is it like right above the exaust or the tranny?

open your hood and look across the motor to the back. It is that area of the body. The windshield comes off the top of it. The dash is hanging from it. The door hinges bolt to it.

Thanks. I know I have one of those but did not know what it does and was not going to ask here.
