What to do?, What to do
Hey, im 17 and just bought my first Camaro and Firebird about a week ago, and i was wondering what the best thing for me to do would be. I got a 1992 Camaro RS V6 and a 1991 firebird with the same engine for $700 as a package deal. Most of the body on the Firebird is complete trash, but the engine runs ok with 180,000 miles but doesnt drive. The RS's engine is blown, but the body is in pretty good shape. My first thought was to just swap the engines, but would it be all that more work (and money) to put in a 305 or 350? Any info anyone could give is greatly appreciated.

Well if you are going to swap engines, you might as well put in a new or rebuilt engine. I would recommend a 350 if you are going to do so. That way it is easier to find parts for. I think http://hawksthirdgenparts.com/inc/sdetail/5660 has some used ones. That's where we got our 350.

Put a LS1 in that RS and leave it quite with one pipe coming out the back then race every thing you see that would be so sweet to see the look on there face after they think they just got bet by a 3rd gen 6cyl.

We thought about putting an LS1 in our Camaro but it would cost way too much to do. You would need a new computer and wiring harness, and a new transmission because as far as I know the trannies in the third gens will not work with the LSx engines.

im just not sure if it would be better to just put the pontiac engine in the camaro that says 160,000 miles on the ODO and then sell it to buy another camaro that already has a V-8 setup. or do i do all the work on the RS? and thanks for the website - tyler
