What do I have?
Excuse my ignorance, but all my previuos Camaros were an 1980 and 1981, I dont know nosing about my new 1992RS 3.1V6. It has a 4 speed automatic tranny. My question is: What kind of tranny its this?

A 4L60E is the electronic version of the 4L60. The E uses more computer control for its shift solenoids. They are not entirly the same. The 700R4 was upgraded and I think it was at that time they changed the name to 4L60. Since yours is a 92 they are refered to as the 4L60.
Indeed. While on the outside, the 4L60E looks a lot like a 700R4, it damn sure isn't the same. The 700R4/4L60 is mostly mechanical, with the exception of the electronic lockup on the torque converter. The 4L60E is a whole different animal, as it is electronically controlled by the PCM, and is not really compatible in any way with a setup from the 80's or early 90's, unless you were to set up an engine built to match that tranny.
Thanks, so I guess 700R4/4L60 is what I got!!!!
My car came without the manual only a guarantee bookt, pinkslip, etc.
Runs pretty good, starts rightaway; cold or hot. The only thing is that the pasenger side window is dead. Its almost rollall the way up but its electricly dead, I dont know, I havent check for blonwup fuses and see, I just got this car and is cold here right now and rainy so she set in the garage right by my 1969 chevy pickup!!!
