What color should i paint my 87 z28???
Hey, i have an 87 z28, its curently black with a purple clearcoat. I have a few questions.
- what colors do you guys think would look best? i think flat black with 2 white strips?
(i want your opinions)
-And about how much would it cost? for a good quality job.
-would it be a good idea for me to sand the whole car down. then let them do the painting
thanks. all replies with color sceams will be great!

Cost depends on the labor rate in your area, work and materials used/needed, how much of it you do and if that will make a difference to the body shop.
You can do a flat black in a single stage or base coat/ clear coat. No clear does not only make it shinny. There are flattening agents for clears to make them flat or eggshell or semi or what ever.
The last body shop I worked in we would still go over it as if it was from start to finish even if the owner sanded the whole thing. Some of the reasons why, if you don't do a good job and some thing fails or there is a problem no one remembers that they did theri own prep its all the body shops fault. Plus if you do your own work don't expect any guarantee.
Again people tend to forget that they sanded it and will come up with "hey all I did was sand it but you applied the paint so why is it peeling?"

I personally like mine, It is blue with silver ground effects and silver striping. it is factory but I dont see too many around like it.
Although it's difficult to see it very well in your avatar, it seems like it looks great as is- any particular reason you want to change it, or...?
