well im 16 and working on my firstmotor build up on a305 for my 89
and im finishing up buying parts sorta and im putting in a new cam in and i dont know how big i should go with stock heads and valves etc
i believe they are a swivel head thats what i have been informed
im wanting to buy a big cam for it that won't hurt anything.
any suggestions or help would be very apreceated

You would be best off contacting one, or more, of the major cam companies and talking to their tech rep. The stock 305 has "swirled" intake runner heads, and nothing can be done to them to make them breathe like the cam is going to want it to. The heads are designed for low end torque and fuel economy, and the intake runners are very restrictive for higher rpm's. A good cam is going to want a heavy breathing set of heads, but you don't have that.
That's why you're better off talking to a tech rep, to find a good compromise based on their experience, not someone's opinions. Now, if you had 305 HO heads, that's a different story.

alright thanks for the help guys.
and the reason i dont put a 350 in it is cuz i dont have the money cuz im 16 and the 305 only has 50k miles and its still original
and runs excellet i acctully beat a 350 berlita jus yesterday cuz it didnt run the best and i gave him a car length and rollin start lol
