V6 or V8
yea thats a sharp lookin RS there. i like it. Chances are its the 305 like bad mentioned. I, like you, didnt know much about cars in general when i bought mine. But from necessity and just plain curiosity, ive picked up a lot just from this sight. a lot of knowledgeable people here. You will quickly learn what you need to know and what you need to do to fix it here.
as far as finding out what engine it is for sure, your BEST BET is to check the VIN code like 89frank said. Or, if thats the stock hood on the car, pop the hood, and look at the hood itself. Near the latch on the left hand side it has a few stickers. If your lucky enough, you can still read them, on one of them it says what motor you will have in it. I think mine reads 5.0 TBI. BUT, thats not whats in there now, so if there is an engine swap of anykind, you may be SOL on knowing which engine it is exactly without some diggin.

Best way to learn is by asking questions, no matter how stupid they may seem. You're better off asking a stupid question than being clueless.
If you're in the same boat as me in the "it's been swapped" i think the only way is to locate the blockcasting number which I believe is behind the driver's side head. Then do some digging online (i found a great site that has all chevy SB and BB) and see what car/year it could have come from.

well, i just washed my car and thought i would let ya know exactly what that lil sticker will say.. It dosent say the type of injection, just the block size. 5.0. The little note is on the upper left of the sticker
Wow...you guys are good. I appreciate you guys taking the time to give me all that info. I gained some valuable knowledge with you guys' response. Thank you. Puck90a; That is very true what you wrote. Im starting to realize that now. This is a cool forum....oh, and just found out it is a V6.I checked the 8th digit of the Vin like 89frank suggested.
