V6 iroc-z?
On another forum this guy posted a thread about some problems he was having out of his 1992 Iroc-z with a 3.1. I posted that the Iroc-z ended in 1990 and never came in a V6. Well a mod posted (after having to edit some not so nice words the kid had for me) that 1990 was the last year, however, the Iroc was available in a V6. Has anyone ever seen a V6 Iroc? I still can't find anything to back this.

Yes, 1990 was the last year for the IROC-Z. It came with either the 305 or 350 V8. And nope, NO such animal as a Z28 with a V6 or straight 6...EVER! That would be a disgrace to the Z/28 badge and what it stands for (no offense meant to V6 owners).

The more things change the more they say the same. I remember back around 1987 a guy in the dealership was telling us his 73 inline six was a “real Z28”. The 60 year old salesman tried to explain the ordering process in 73 and that once you picked Z28 on the form there was no way to order a I6, even the owner of the dealership could not have gotten on Z28 with a I6. They called me out to take a look at the car because he was trading it in and he was looking for Rare Z28 value. It was the lowest base model with three on the tree painted and badged as a Z28. He held firm it was a Z until the salesman took him back to the parts department and they started looking up engine parts listed as Z28 only. I think the dealership only offered him $800 for it he want 3K. Had he taken the $800 it would been at my house getting a V8/4speed installed the next weekend
