Hey guys

I was just wondering if the V6 5 speed transmission is the same as the Z28 5 speed (except for ratios, I'd imagine). Me and a friend are trying to decide how to get a cheap 5 speed into his '91 Z28 until he can afford a T56 and he ran across a classified for a cheap V6 trans. It's auto right now and he wants to take it to a few track days this year, so anything's better than what's in it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Just need a V8 bell house. Ratio are the same.

 

There is a difference with the input shaft spline between the v6(14 spline) and the v8 (twenty something?). I've read onanother forum of people using the small 9" clutchbut it may or may not live up to your driving habits.There is a special 10.5" clutch disc the S10 guys use with the 14 spline available fromAdvance adapters but I've found that Summit racing has a similar itemfor a cheaper price. My 85 305 is a 26 spline count if that helps
