one whats the easiest way to replace the heater core and how long will it take. and two, under hard initial accelleration i get a nice little thud. at first i thought motor mount, tranny mount, shock mount. all these checked out good. then a buddy of mine said lower control arms. any one else got an idea??

any idea where the thud is comming from? could be a loose drive shaft? play in the tranny or rear. idk man, any number of things really

 

it sounded like the things i mentioned. feel it in the floor. sometimes theres a little wheel hot along with it and its only under hard shifting or accell. by a loose drvie shaft do you mean u-joins?

 

as in universal joints not u bolts

 

What you describe sounds like a trans mount. Did you check the mount by jacking up slightly on the tail of the trans? A torn mount doesn't always stick out like a sore thumb.

 

yea camaros right, i still think its the tranny. but by drive shaft im talkin about where it mates up to the tranny and the rear end, so at the joints yes.

 

i havent done that yet, but 'll try it today

 

I would guess the tranny mount as well. When I had my 94 z28 the mount went and I thought the tranny was going to hop into my lap. Jack it up and take a look it might not be torn completely.
