tv cable problem

Default tv cable problem

ok the plastic end on my tv cable that hooks to the tb broke now im shifting at 5k rpms and have no kick down

how does it hook up to the trans as i must go to the junkyard to get one

and what other vehicles have compatible tv cables. im thinking late 80 to late 90s silverados with the 350 v8 and 700r4

i have an 1989 305

any help soon would be greatly appreciated as im out of college at 230 today and im heading straight to the junkyard.

it hooks in the transmission via a above the transmission pan. It's a little loop thingy that you'll have to get it connected to. My tip is to try to pull that little metal loop up as far as you can wtih the old tv cable and try to get the new one connected while you can see it. Otherwise it's kind of annoying trying to fish around for it...
As for what other cars have them, anything with a 700r4 will have one but I'm not sure on compatability. Anyone else have input on that?

Get that cable fixed before you drive that thing very much more.
With the TV cable not working properly, you could toast the trans.

well i got the old one working for now with a zip tie.

i cannot get any of my tools in there good to remove the bolt on the cable to unhook the tv cable from the tranny.

and how do i adjust the tv cable as in tighter= late shift or tighter=sooner shift and so on
