ok anyone that reads my post know I have the 84 305 HO with a t5 and posi rear. I was going to put the 700r4 in it during the winter cause I dont wanna shift anymore ( getting lazy and old I guess.) anyway I see many are running a 350 trans, which I like the idea of since I wont really be taking it on the hiway,so have have no interest on keeping up with them. now what all will be needed as far as crossmember, drive shaft and shifter? can I use the 400 or is the 350 plentytough enough? I know I will need my current speedo ring. basically, what parts do I need and from what vehicles( ya I figured I needed the tranny. LOL). thanks in advance

 

You need a kit for the torque arm mount, other than that I think you got it covered.

 

The 350 is also shorter so you will need a cross member. And since it is shorter a longer drive shaft.
