my camaro 87 wount go into 2nd gear is been sitting for about a week ,even if turned off still wont go into second gear.is original transmission. help

 

What about first gear??? Dose the Gear selector go into all the other positions???

goes into 1st 2nd 3d 4th but not 5th and no reverse.5sp manual. Is there somekind of asjutment on the bottom of the transmission?

ok you have the manual 5 speed. this happened to me so I can help you a bit. on the drivers side of the tranny near the top is a bolt. it should be all the way in. do NOT force it in if its out. you will need to remove the tranny and PARTLY disassemble it to re engage the fork groove assembly that controlls both overdrive and 5th gear, which is in the tail housing. here is a site that helped me alot. you do not need to remove the bell housing, just the tranny. its 4 bolts to the bellhousing.

this issue happens alot with people tring to add or change oil when they dont know what they are doing.

 

ok if its a 5 speed you probley need a sencro butf irst take the shifter off and check the ball under the shifter it may have a flat spot in it you can do this in the car
