Default Torque converters?

Does anyone know anything about torque converters. Im looking to buy an 85 z28 with a 2800-3200 stall speed. I was wondering if you would wast a bunch of gas with that. Let me know asap because im going to look at this car tomorrow.

Default RE: Torque converters?

If the car has a torque converter clutch, it won't matter much, at least at highway speed. If it does not have a TCC it will definetely burn more fuel, both around town and on the open highway.
